Lisa Shoalmire is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) and a proud native of Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and began her career as a Certified Public Accountant, working first in private industry and later at a major public accounting firm.
Motivated by a desire to make a greater difference for individuals and families navigating complex legal and financial challenges, Lisa pursued both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Taxation from Baylor University. After law school, she had the privilege of serving as a briefing attorney for the Honorable Donald R. Ross at the Texas Sixth Court of Appeals and subsequently as a staff attorney for the Court.
In 2005, Lisa transitioned into private practice. She co-founded Ross & Shoalmire, PLLC, with her partner, John K. Ross, establishing one of the region’s most respected elder law and estate planning firms.

Helped hundreds of families with special-needs children navigate guardianship, public benefits, and asset preservation to ensure lifelong care and stability.

Argued appeals in Texas, Arkansas, and federal appellate courts, including the Fifth and Eighth Circuits.

Litigated complex probate and guardianship bench and jury trials.

Presented continuing legal education (CLE) programs for the State Bar of Texas, the Arkansas Bar Association, and the University of Texas CLE.

Been certified as a Texas Ad Litem.
Lisa is licensed to practice in Texas and Arkansas, as well as before the U.S. District Courts in both states and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eighth Circuits.
Beyond her legal practice, Lisa is deeply committed to community service. She has served on the boards of the Texarkana Area Community Foundation, Opportunities, Inc., and the Advisory Board for Boy Scouts, Caddo Area Council.
In addition to her legal and community work, Lisa has shared her expertise as both an adjunct and assistant professor, teaching courses in accounting and business law at the college level.
